Official History Of New Zealand In The Second World War: New Zealanders In The Royal Air Force Vol. II: European Theatre January 1943- May 1945 (1956) By Wing Commander H. L. Thompson

The Official History of New Zealand in the Second World War 1939–45 is a 48-volume series published by the War History Branch (and its successors) of the Department of Internal Affairs , which covered New Zealand's involvement in the Second World War. The series was published during the period 1949 to 1986.

The Official History of New Zealand in the Second World War 1939–45 was the largest publication project undertaken in New Zealand.

This volume is the second of the comprehensive record of New Zealand air personnel who served outside the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) structure, serving alongside their British counterparts.

It documents the work and achievements of New Zealand airmen serving with the RAF in Europe during the final, intense years of WWII. Published by the War History Branch in Wellington, it covers key campaigns, including Bomber Command operations.
