A ten-year study of Third Reich-era postcards has resulted in a multiple-volume series. Three basic categories of postcards are chronologically covered: official issue, "printed to private order" for special events, and propaganda. These colorful images depict a complex latticework of German culture and society. The basic cards are not only pictured, but all known variants are also listed or illustrated.
