Erickson keeps the reader's interest in the individual battles fought by the these two great antagonists while maintaining focus on the overall direction of the campaign and the ultimate defeat of Germany in Berlin. This is an extremely well-written book which gives the reader the facts and analysis of how and why the Russians overcame their initial defeats and went on to defeat the finest Army in WWII
