This book is a fake story. The author claims to have served with 137 Squadron flying Westland Whirlwind fighters and later to have played a pivotal role in the Battle of the Barents Sea as a "Hurricat" pilot. He says he later flew in both Typhoons and Tempests. He claims to have been awarded both the Distinguished Flying Medal (DFM) and Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). However, his name does not appear on any roster of the squadrons concerned, or in any list of recipients of the DFM or DFC.
